A Message from the Principal

Welcome to St Finbar’s School, East Brighton. This website is designed to provide a ‘snap shot’ of our school for prospective families and ongoing information to our current families.

It is a privilege to be part of this community and as Principal, each day I witness the love, commitment and hopes that each parent carries for their child. Parents are the first educators of their children and it is they who are the consistent influence in their lives. We, as teachers, journey with you in supporting your child’s development by providing a safe learning environment.

We aim to work in partnership with you in nurturing their development, by taking a genuine interest in their welfare, guiding, supporting and assisting their holistic development. The teachers at St Finbar’s School are professional, dedicated and resolute in ensuring that each child attains their full potential.

St Finbar’s School is a parish primary school. We are committed to educating the whole child - spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally and creatively. We continually strive to create a Catholic learning community in which Christian values are taught, not only through formal lessons, but through our values and relationships with parents, teachers, students and family.

We endeavour to educate our students to develop a foundation of knowledge, skills and attitudes for life-long learning, so that they can actively contribute as members of the 21st century. Our teaching provides developmental programs, encourages risk taking and inspires an enthusiasm for life-long learning. At St Finbar’s we build the expectation that each of us has the potential to contribute to the development of our changing world.

Our school community is vibrant and enthusiastic, and we continue to develop partnerships with parents in order to provide a positive experience for families. Through a positive partnership between school, home and parish we strengthen our relationships and promote active community involvement.
