"21st century education integrates technologies, engaging students in ways not previously possible, creating new learning and teaching possibilities, enhancing achievement and extending interactions with local and global communities." (Contemporary learning: learning in an online world, MCEETYA, 2005)

Children today live in a fast changing world , marked by rapid developments in technology. We do not know what the future holds for students of today but we do know that technology will play a big part in their future. Our intention if that our students will leave St Finbars confident and proficient using technology.

In 2015, St Finbar's became a Google Apps for Education School, which has transformed the way that students and staff work. Students store all of their work in their Google Drive which can be accessed anywhere and anytime.

In 2016, we implemented a one-to-one Chromebook program for our Year 4 to 6 students.  Every student in Years 4 to 6 has their own HP Chromebook for their exclusive use. Teachers use the program Hapara as a way of managing student work. These tools and resources support teaching and learning by enabling students to communicate, create, collaborate and  store information in ways not previously possible.

Students in Foundation to Year 3 have access to Acer laptops and use these laptops frequently throughout the week.

iPads are used extensively throughout the school with students using Apps to reinforce concepts covered in class.

Each year level has their own Blog which is used a link between home and school and parents are encouraged to check the Blog with their students regularly and comment on the posts.
